Springfield Fun Park & Pony Centre
With acres of space to play in when the sun is shining, but even in wet weather, the large indoor play barn and undercover activities offer a fantastic day out. Children (and adults) get the opportunity to ride and groom the ponies, and play on go-karts, a death drop slide and a giant astra-wave slide. We always get great reviews from families. Half price return tickets are given on arrival as well, so you can always go back during the week. £1 web discount vouchers are also available; the staff in reception will happily print one for you.

Surfing
Youth culture on the Cornish coast revolves around surfing. After school, you’ll often see the local children changing out of their school uniform and into their wetsuits, running down the road with their impossible small shortboards tucked under their arms. It is because the thrill of standing on the board and riding a wave is an unforgettable and addictive experience, something everybody should try once.
The Xtreme Academy at Watergate Bay offers an ideal environment to experience this sport. The surf instructors are trained lifeguards, and the forgiving waves of Watergate Bay work well at low and high tide. They not only offer surfing lessons, but also kite-surfing, mountain boarding and wave-skiing. They are constantly innovating their programmes and offering new sports. They aim to get each surfer up and riding by the end of their first lesson. Visit www.watergatebay.co.uk/extremeacademy.
